Skywatcher Reflecting Telescopes

The Skywatcher range of Reflecting Telescopes offer good value for money and come in a range of sizes.

Skywatcher Skyhawk

The Sky-Watcher SKYHAWK models feature shorter, more compact telescope tube lengths resulting in lighter-weight telescopes of excellent convenience and portability.

They are a particularly good choice of instrument for the more serious novice astronomer wanting larger aperture and increased performance at a relatively low cost.

The Skyhawk Catadioptric-Newtonian model (114) is a Newtonian reflector with a correcting lens mounted within the focuser, resulting in a long focal length within the confines of a short tube. Tube material: Aluminium

Skywatcher Explorer-190MN PRO
AN ASTROPHOTOGRAPHERS DREAM TELESCOPE!!
The exciting new Maksutov-Newtonian from Sky-Watcher is just what astrophotographers and serious visual observers have been looking for.

The Maksutov-Newtonian design combines the best features from the Newtonian Reflector and the Maksutov-Cassegrain to create a telescope design that provides truly stunning image quality, providing high-contrast, perfectly flat images, free from false colour.

The Maksutov-Newtonian design provides large aperture Apochromatic performance, with exceptional field correction, in a compact, amazingly affordable package. Stars appear as classic pinpoints across the entire field. Perfectly optimised for modern DSLR cameras.

If you are new to imaging with a DSLR camera you can find out everything you need to know to get yourlself started in this exciting hobby.

Ninian Boyle and Jon Walton have written the definitive beginners guide to DSLR Astro-Imaging and you can find out more about it right now if you click here
The premium optics are housed in a robust rolled-steel tube for excellent mechanical integrity. Five internal knife-edge baffles are included to eliminate internal reflections and further enhance contrast. The Primary Mirror is made of low thermal expansion Pyrex® glass for a significantly reduced cool-down time.

Compared to a similarly sized Schmidt-Newtonian, the Maksutov-Newtonian yields a sharper and more contrasty image.

Naturally, the Maksutov-Newtonian is an excellent visual performer too!!

"Our first test on the Sky-Watcher Explorer-130 was to check the collimation of the mirrors, which we found were well aligned. This scope has one of the largest mirrors in its price range, which is a great asset because it means it can gather more light...Optically, the quality of the field of view while studying the star Altair was very good using the supplied 25mm eyepiece. The star remained sharp across 80 per cent of the view, with only slight distortion close to the field edges..., Taking everything into account, this telescope made observing the night sky enjoyable and relatively hassle free..., great views coupled with ease of use."

PARABOLIC PRIMARY MIRRORS
All Sky-Watcher ("fast") Newtonian Reflectors feature High Quality Parabolic Primary Mirrors to eliminate spherical aberrations inherent in "fast" focal length reflectors with spherical primary mirrors. The mirrors are parabolized to bring all the light rays to the same focal point to give sharp, contrasty images, which are full of detail.
