Solarscope Solarview 50 front energy rejection element

The telescope is brilliantly engineered to give a full 50mm (60mm) clear aperture with NO central obstruction as found in other telescopes of this type, thereby giving excellent contrast. It is thermally stable, and so does not need any power supply to keep a constant temperature.
For your reassurance you can find out more about the high level of safety that has been engineered into Solarscope's Solarview telescopes and add-on filters.

Being a dedicated hydrogen alpha telescope, it makes it an ideal scope for clubs, schools, colleges and universities as well as for the private individual.

With the 0.7Å Bandpass, it provides fantastic views of prominences, and surface details such as sunspots, plages, faculae prominences, filaments, flares Cornonal Mass Ejections, and granulation (click here for an explanation) as you can see in the images on this page, all of which were taken through the Solarview 50 at the Arizona Sky Village by Jack Newton. out what all
Located at the front end of the telescope is an energy-rejection filter that prevents entry of harmful ultra violet and infra red radiation, and it is this along with the built in blocking filter that offers full protection to your eye. It also controls the brightness of the final image.
The telescope is designed to accept photographic and CCD equipment, with plenty of back focus, thus making it excellent for imaging as well as visually.

You will need a 1¼" eyepiece and star diagonal. Venturescope highly recommend a Tele Vue 1¼"Everbrite diagonal and the Tele Vue 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece to get the very best visually. To find the sun safely and easily, the telescope has been thoughtfully designed to take the Tele Vue Sol Searcher (supplied) which makes aligning your telescope to the sun fast and safe.
The picture (right) show the Solarview 50 set up in this way on a Slik camera tripod.

You can find out more about these accessories here

The scope has a base with four ¼-20 holes for mounting purposes and is supplied with a robust, well padded carry case with ample room to safely house your diagonal and eyepiece. There is a metal anodised screw in cap to protect the exposed glass when the scope is not is use.

The whole system has been very well designed and thought out, the images shown speak for themselves and the engineering on a par with that of Tele Vue and you can't get any better than that!

All photographs on this page were taken by Jack Newton and they have all been digitally coloured to show the surface detail and prominences more clearly in the picture. The Hydrogen Alpha line is actually in the red part of the spectrum, so eyeball viewing of the sun through a Hydrogen Alpha filter shows the sun in all its glory, but of course with a red hue!
