The STAR 2000 Interface module |
S.T.A.R, 2000 is a patented invention from Starlight Xpress wich allows any of the cameras from the
SXVF-M5,7 and 9 series to image and guide the telescope at the same time without the need for a separate
autoguider.
The camera downloads a small portion of the fild around the guide star and compares its location in the previous guide image. Any change of position of the guide object is then calculated by the software and a series of pulses are sent to the motors in the telescope drive, via the Autoguider Output socket at the rear of the camera. Whilst this is happening, the camera continues to take the long exposure of the object that that you have chosen. At the end of the exposure, the image is downloaded and displayed on the computer screen, without trailed stars or other guiding errors! The complete package includes Software, Interface and 5m total cable length |
